Boy Abunda addresses critics over his interview with Cong. Alan Peter Cayetano
King of Talk Boy Abunda addressed criticisms he received from netizens for allegedly giving his platform to Alan Peter Cayetano, who led the Congress in shutting down ABS-CBN’s franchise.
In The Interviewer’s Hard Talk with Cong. Alan Peter Cayetano, Abunda placed Cayetano in a hot seat and asked him questions regarding the closure of ABS-CBN.
Cayetano is the former House Speaker who led the Congress that decided to reject ABS-CBN’s franchise bid in 2020.
Despite being an investigative interview, Abunda still earned the flak of people for allegedly giving a platform for Cayetano. Some even labeled him as ‘bayaran’ since the interview was accordingly paid by the friends of Cayetano.

Did Alan Peter Cayetano enter into a block time agreement with GMA so that all GMA-owned channels will air his "pangangampanya (for president)" television special that was hosted by Boy Abunda? pic.twitter.com/KTEQUhxWLY

Abunda got asked about this in his interview with ABS-CBN News.
The seasoned host shared that the interview was supposedly four hours long, but it got shortened to 27 minutes for YouTube purposes.
“The raw material was extremely contrarian, kung mapapansin mo ayaw kong magpaligoy-ligoy, ‘let’s talk about ABS-CBN’ kasi gusto kong malinawagan.”
Regarding the strong reactions against the interview, he said, “I respect that questioning, but that will not merit an answer from me because I will be defensive.
“I totally respect where that is coming from but, that is my business. Because my interview is what it is.”
Most people hate Cayetano for being a ‘flip flop master.’
Before the filing of candidacy, Cayetano was rumored to running for Presidency in 2022. However, on October 7, he filed his candidacy for Senator.
In October last year, Cayetano filed a resignation in Congress even though he was already ousted as Speaker of the House of Representatives a day before.
