Georcelle Dapat-Sy says LITZ isn’t KPop, wants to define PPop

On November 11, G Force’s Teacher Georcelle commented that the new girl group from Viva isn’t imitating Korean Pop. Instead, she expressed her interest in defining Pinoy Pop with the girl group.

During the media conference for LITZ’s song Natataranta, Georcelle clarified that the PPop group is still finding its place in the music industry.

“We are still finding our space in the music industry. I’m reading all the comments of the fans when they have been launched on social media. We’re still finding our sound, finding our space.

“We are not KPop, ang gusto ko po, ang goal namin talaga is really to define what PPop is here in the Philippines.”

Georcelle said the girl group also wants to make its own mark in the music industry.

“I want LITZ to also /make its own mark in the music industry. As of the moment, naghahanap pa rin po kami, samahan niyo kami, and I want also all of their fans– their fans are all very supportive. Until now, we are finding our place here in the music industry.”

Their members consist of Heart Ryan Evangelista (19), Ashtine Olviga (22), Bianca Santos (20), Fatima Añonuevo (20) and Yumi Garcia (18). Teacher Georcelle also described each of the members of LITZ.

She described Ashtine as the “softy,” Heart as the “posh” one, Bianca as the “baddie of the group,” Yumi as the “E-Girl” and the youngest, and Fatima as the most courageous.

“Ashtine, she’s really a softy. Sya talaga ‘yung pinakamahinhin, morena, babae, kumbaga dalagang Pilipina of 2021.

“Heart siya yung–nakita niyo naman po, narinig nyo naman, English speaking, she’s also learning to speak Tagalog. Siya ang talagang–ito ‘yung mga magugustuhan ng mga gusto ng mga sosya, yan posh.

“Bianca is the baddie in the group–she is our dancer. She’s the one who really kills and slays the choreography.

“Yumi siya ang aming E-Girl, laman siya ng computer. She’s very playful, siya din ‘yung youngest, that’s why she is the most /playful.

“Fatima, siya talaga ‘yung parang athletic, siya ‘yung nakikita kong matapang sa group. Siya talaga ‘yung nakikita kong kapag may aaway sa group siya talaga ‘yung susugod.”

Teacher Georcelle admits that she wants the group to have bashers.

“Gusto ko sila magkaroon ng bashers. Because we also learn from the bashers. We consider, we think about what they can see, what we don’t see, kasi sila ang nakakakita. But we make sure that we don’t put it in our hearts because that will damage us.”

She then noted that LITZ wants to improve more.

“Magpagaling po kami ng magpagaling. That is the plan. That is our goal for now.”

Teacher Georcelle then listed the on-and-off training LITZ went through during the pandemic.

“I need to asses them, because, really don’t know them. Kailangan nila magpakilala sa akin at sa team ko. From there, May, we were supposed to start, but lockdowns happened, so we started with Zoom sessions only. And then June, July we had–even for the shoots, how they interact with the camera, how they project with the camera, kasama ‘yun sa training nila. And then August, start nanaman ng lockdown. It’s like on and off training.”

She also highlighted the group’s potential and hunger to perform.

“They’re all hungry, and that’s what I love. And I was processing this with my team.

“What made me really admire their working attitude, because sa generation nila wala akong nakikitang ganito. Because they’re all like handed everything, everything handed sa kanila. I think that is the best thing I can say for the LITZ. They are hungry, they’re really excited about this. They really enjoy what they’re doing.”

Teacher Georcelle then revealed that each of the members of the group is a social media star.

“They are all social media stars on their own platforms. So everything you see on Tiktok, and their vibe, and their presence sa social media, I really want to work with that because that’s them eh. So my role talaga, is to bring out the best talaga in each girl.”

The newest Pinoy Pop Girl Group from Viva, LITZ, introduced themselves to the public with the single Natataranta on November 11.

The group is currently under the mentorship of Teacher Georcelle and the GForce Dance Academy. They hone their skills as performers under the tutelage of the renowned choreographer who brought life to Sarah Geronimo’s iconic dance number, Tala.
