Jay Manalo on the advancement of sexy films: ‘Malaki ang pinagkaiba’

Sexy star Jay Manalo admitted on October 14 that sexy films have now evolved greatly since after his time.

Being a sexy actor himself, Manalo concluded that the 90s sexy films were more on being ‘comedic.’

“Oo. Actually malaki yung pagkakaiba. Kasi yung dati kasi eh more on sexy comedy na nagawa ko noon,” he said during his upcoming sexy movie Mahjong Nights.

Furthermore, the actor believed that the newer sexy films were more daring and had more substance in their story.

“Malaki ang pinagkakaiba kasi ngayon mas daring, yung nilalaman yung istorya at nung pelikula na ginagawa ngayon, talagang meron silang inihahatid na mensahe about doon sa movie,” he pointed.

He also observed that sexy scenes of this era have progressed to being more natural.

“Mas natural yung mga sexy scenes, mga eksena na nakita kong ginawa at ginagawa ng iba.”

Relating to himself, if sexy films during his time might have become more daring, with a better storyline, he believes that he could compete with other sexy stars.

“Siguro nu’ng panahon ko noon, kung ginagawa ‘yan, kaya kong makipagsabayan sa kanila.”

However, knowing that he is already past his prime, at age 48, Manalo said he is willing to give way and help the future sexy stars find their footing in the industry they have chosen.

“Kaya nga lang s’yempre, katulad nga ng sinabi ko kanina, ibibigay ko na lang sa mga gustong umupo, yung mga bagong sibol, na kailangan nating magbigay-daan para maipakita nila yung kanilang craft, yung kanilang galing at s’yempre sa tulong rin ng direktor na magabayan sila,” said the actor.

Manalo will star in Mahjong Nights alongside two of the newest sexy stars of this generation—Sean de Guzman and Angeli Khang.

The movie will premiere on November 12, only on Vivamax.
