DJ Loonyo shares His Most Embarrassing Moment onstage

On August 31, DJ Loonyo shared his most embarrassing moment on stage during his interview with RAWR Nation.

Loonyo recalled his experience in 2019 in Music Museum, wherein he pulled his back while performing with his group.

“Last 2019, concert namin ng Rockwell, sa Music Museum. Kalagitnaan ng prod, parang nag-snap ‘yung likod ko. Pinulikat ako at the same time. Talagang tumba ako sa gitna ng stage, sa gitna ng performance.

“Nakakahiya talaga ‘yun, talagang binuhat pa ako palabas during the performance. Ang pangit ng itsura ko doon.”

He attributed the accident to fatigue since he’s helming the production of the show.

“Dahil sobrang overfatigue ‘yun. Ako ‘yung nag-direct noong time na ‘yun. Sobrang pagod na and then nag-perform pa ako.”

He then shared how he recovered from the injury and went on performing. 

“And then lumabas pa ako. Well then, kasi sa Rockstars pa lang nagre-represent na kami ng bansa natin trained kami sa utak talaga na lumalaban. Ang mga dancers talaga na nagre-represent sa ibang bansa parang atleta na kasi ‘yun. 

“Pag ganon, easy lang naman, dasal talaga, realign your intentions to God. And then ‘yun na, magiging okay na, hindi ka na frustrated. Babawi ka ulit.”

As for his journey as a dancer, Loonyo narrated how his group got into Asia’s Got Talent. 

“‘Yun yung resulta ng trip-trip namin as a group. 

“That idea ng Rockstars, idea namin ‘yun. Fund raising namin for San Diego ‘yun. So nag-concert kami kasi mahilig kami sa Magic Mike. So we want to have a legit na ano, hindi siya malaswa na performance ‘yung ginawa namin sa fund raising namin. 

“Kumbaga para siyang Magic Mike, pero wholesome pa rin. Pero at the same time, ayun nga punit punit ‘yung katawan. Tapos nakita ng Asia’s Got talent. So they sent us an invitation na baka pwede kaming sumali for the show kasi nga parang intersting nga daw ‘yung content namin. So sige go lang. Trip lang talaga ‘yun.”

As for his ‘craziest’ dance performance, he recalled his group’s participation in HHI (Hip Hop International) in 2015.

“Pinakabaliw na pakiramdam was HHI 2015, Hip Hop International 2015. Kasi matagal kong pinagdasal ‘yung competition na ‘yun. Kasi buong mundo ‘yun eh. Matagal kong pinagdasal talaga. 

“Crazy kasi hindi ko magalaw ‘yung katawan buong katawan ko sa sobrang pressure. 

“Crazy siya kasi after ng snap. Literal may narinig akong snap sa music namin boom tapos na ‘yung piyesa tapos hindi ko alam kung ano ‘yung nangyayari. Ganon ka literal ‘yung ano na parang gumalaw na lang ‘yung katawan ko. I don’t know what happened. Tapos umiiyak na lang ako ng sobra sa stage.”

As for his music career, Loonyo currently has two singles under Universal Records Philippines. They are the summer vibe song Under The Sun and the front liners tribute song Kaya Natin ‘To.

Loonyo gained popularity through social media, which led to him breaking into the mainstream media. Aside from his record label deal with Universal Records, he is also a Head Hunter in TV5’s PoPinoy.
