Comedian Petite slams Ate Gay over an FB post about Philippines’ debt

On September 4, comedian Vincent Aycocho a.k.a. Petite, slammed and threatened to unfriend fellow comedian Gil Aducal Morales a.k.a. Ate Gay over the latter’s facebook post on the Philippines’ debt.

Ate Gay wrote, “Delete ko mga friends ko dito na walang ginawa kung di mangnega ng umaga at manisi ang sisihin ang gobyerno .. basa din alamin ang pinagmulan ng paghihirap ng Pilipinas.. simulan niyo ng 1986..”

Petite responded with another post noting, “Diyos ko 11.6 Trilyon utang ng Pilipinas kahit oras oras mag max rate si LYKA di mababayaran ang echos na yannnnn!”

Ate Gay then replied to Petite’s post, “Ikaw na ang pangulo !! Tingnan ko lang kung di ka umutang! Kaloka ka petite ..tayo nga nangungutang tayo para sa pamilya natin dahil di naman tayo mayaman.. ganun din ang pilipinas di mayaman .. mahirap mahirap mahiraaaaaaap noon paaaaaaa!”

Netizens reacted to their exchange, with most siding with Petite.

On April 23, 1986, The Philippines government under former President Cory Aquino announced that former President Marcos salted away $860.8 million (£569.5 million) with his wife, Imelda. The reports said the total national loss from November 1965 reached $5–$10 billion.

The Php 11.6 trillion is the current government’s debt as of July 2021. 

Projections estimate that the country’s debt will swell up to Php 13.41 trillion by the end of 2022.

Earlier, Ate Gay also shared his opinions on current issues relating to the pandemic through social media.
