Sheemee Buenaobra shares journey to becoming a GMA Network talent
The Clash Season 3 grand finalist Sheemee Buenaobra went through a lot before getting signed with GMA Network.
Sheemee was among the newly acquired talents of the Kapuso Network who signed a contract with them during their Signed for Stardom contract-signing event last Sunday, September 5.
In a virtual media conference for the newly signed artists, Sheemee on Thursday, September 30, had to show the world how passionate she was about singing.
In 2018, she joined the Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime‘s Tawag ng Tanghalan where she became one of its champions and also performed in ASAP NATIN ‘TO.
“Everyone in the family loves to sing. Mula sa father ko down to my youngest sister then to my eldest singer.
“Because of my love for singing, I sang and interpreted songs in ASAP and TNT po. And I also joined other network.”
She also joined the D’Academy Asia 5 in 2019, an Indonesian folk music talent show held in Jakarta, Indonesia, and the Kapuso OST Princess Hannah Precillas.
“After no’n I had the privileged to represent our country in D’Academy Asia which is in Jakarta Indonesia.”
According to her, it was as if fate was pushing her to continue pursuing her dreams. When she returned from competing in Indonesia, that is when The Clash was looking for new contestants. She eventually reached the grand finals but fell short of Jessica Villarubin, the show’s grand champion, and Jennie Gabriel, the 2nd runner-up.
“So no’ng bumalik ako dito sa Pilipinas, timing na nagkaroon ng audition for The Clash. Ayun pinush ko talaga na mag-audition.
“And thank God, nakapasok ako and nakaabot sa grand finals. Kaya andito ako ngayon, and I’m so very thankful and blessed dahil sa opportunity na binigay sa’kin ni GMA Artist Center. Also, The Clash dahil sila ang unang nakakita ng kakayahan ko.”
Aside from Sheemee, other new talents signed their respective contracts with GMA Network during the event. These were: Hannah Argueles, Kirsten Gonzales, Ashley Alcayde, Gab Yabut, Shanelle Agustin, Matt Lozano, Coleen Paz, Jeff Moses, Levince Sotto, Lyme Arana, Carlo San Juan, Gabrielle Hahn, Brianna Bunagan, Lala Vinzon, Sandro Muhlach, Alexandra Yap, Saviour Ramos, and Tanya Ramos.
