Roi Vinzon’s daughter Lala overwhelmed after signing with GMA Network
Lala Vinzon, the daughter of actor Roi Vinzon, expressed on Thursday, September 30, how she was overwhelmed after becoming an official Kapuso artist.
She is part of the artists who signed their contracts during the Signed for Stardom event last Sunday, September 5.
When asked what the meaning of ‘stardom’ for her is, Lala said it was an “overwhelming opportunity.”
“For me, yung stardom, s’yempre na-overwhelm ako sa opportunity na binigay sa’kin kasi hindi lahat nabibigyan ng ganito.
“Ngayon parang mas lalo akong na-motivate na ipagpatuloy yung gusto kong gawin sa buhay as an artist, as a musician, and as an actress.”
The 19-year old Lala, prior to signing with GMA Network, was an artist of ABS-CBN after she became a runner-up of the Kapamilya reality singing competition The Voice Teens in 2017.
She was part of ASAP‘s Jambayan with Moira dela Torre, Inigo Pascual, Zia Quizon, Migz Haleco, Kaye Cal, and JM de Guzman.
She also became a part of ASAP‘s G Squad segment with Darren Espanto, Jayda Avanzado, Ylona Garcia, Kyle Echarri, and fellow The Voice Teens finalist Jeremy Glinoga.
However, when the show was reformatted in 2018 as ASAP NATIN ‘TO, Lala’s segments were dissolved though she continued to appear as a guest.
For almost four years, Lala has released a number of songs; being the most recent is her 2020 single Pansamantala.
After coming to the Kapuso Network, Lala admitted that she had to make adjustments now that she’s in a new network.
“Coming from the other network, s’yempre may time na nag-aadjust ako kasi may mga nakasanayan din ako.”
However, the changes she had to make were in a “good way” because of the support she received from her fans.
“Hindi ko in-expect yung suporta na makukuha ko no’ng lumipat ako.
“It was one of the decisions I’ve made dahil bata pa lang ako pabalik-balik ako sa GMA since I was eleven or twelve.
“Kaya hindi ko inasahan na now I’m 19 years old, ngayon ko nakuha yung pangarap na ‘yon. At mas maganda dahil maraming nakaka-recognize sa kaya kong gawin.
“Sobrang adjustment but at the same time it was good progress and it’s an amazing process.”
GMA Artist Center has yet to announce their plans for Lala although she already appeared in All-Out Sundays’ Fresh Young Peeps (FYP).
“Given the chance to perform sa All-Out Sundays, sobrang nakakatuwa kasi I’ve got to work with different and talented artists na na-discover ko kung gaano kalawak ng field namin, na ang dami naming p’wedeng gawin. And binigay sa amin yun ng GMA.”
Meanwhile, Lala, as a Kapuso talent, would also like to explore the world of acting. However, when asked what her father’s thought about it, she revealed that it made him worry a little bit.
“Sabi n’ya, ‘may mga consequences d’yan. Hindi ka p’wedeng tumanggi sa mga roles, kunyari may mga kissing scenes, sexy scenes, gano’n.’
“So kinabahan s’ya kasi s’yempre baka once na tumanggi ka baka hindi ka na kunin. Kaya gusto n’yang ayusin ang image ko para mailagay sa maayos na role,” she shared.
Nevertheless, her dad said that being with GMA Network, she’s in “good hands.”
“And I feel din sa kanya na as a dad, kasi alam n’ya yung mga disadvantages sa pag-acting. But sabi n’ya he’s there to guide naman at he’s always gonna be there to support. Pero gusto n’ya safe and secure ako.”
Lala is joined by Hannah Argueles, Kirsten Gonzales, Ashley Alcayde, Gab Yabut, Shanelle Agustin, Matt Lozano, Coleen Paz, Jeff Moses, Sheemee Buenaobra, Levince Sotto, Carlo San Juan, Gabrielle Hahn, Brianna Bunagan, Lyme Arana, Sandro Muhlach, Alexandra Yap, Saviour Ramos, and Tanya Ramos in the Signed for Stardom event.
