Lauren Dyogi answers rumors about him being PBB’s ‘Big Brother’

ABS-CBN production head Laurenti Dyogi dismissed the rumors that he is the famous ‘Kuya’ of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB).

The identity of ‘Kuya’ remains a mystery to all Kapamilyas as the owner of the enigmatic voice in the popular reality show has not revealed himself yet to the public.

Many believed that ‘Big Brother’ is Direk Lauren but the director denied this again during his interview with Toni Gonzaga.

Explaining why people believe him to be “Kuya,” 

Dyogi said: “I think the imprint that I left in the beginnings of Big Brother, because I was the one na kapag may kontrobersya, ako ‘yung haharap. Tapos Kuya is a good mimic, my intonation, my inflection.”

He said that he was the one creatively in control of the show that’s why people would closely relate him to ‘Kuya.’

“Because in the beginning I was really the one creatively in control. So malaki po ‘yung parte ng pagkatao ko na napupunta kay Kuya na napupunta sa programa because I was really in control. At that time, it was really my baby. It was really what I breathed day in, day out,” said Dyogi.

The director also shared that he holds PBB close to his heart because of the many years he worked with the show.

“Ang laki po nung 15 years, 16th na yata this year of ‘Big Brother’ na pinagsamahan namin dahil talagang literally, we were living together. Those were tough times na controversy was talagang wow. But I think ‘yun din ang nakatulong sa popularity ng ‘PBB,’ because we know how to handle the controversy,” he said.

With Direk Lauren denying the rumors that he is PBB’s ‘Kuya’, the identity behind the iconic voice remains a mystery.

Lauren Dyogi succeeded Mariole Alberto as the Head of Star Magic on January 1, 2021. As the new head, the director aims to give a global platform for Star Magic Talents.
