JC Santos thinking of leaving the Philippines?

On Wednesday, October 20, Actor JC Santos shared that he was about to leave the country for good after falling in love and that this plan is still being considered.

“Ako nagplano na akong tumira sa ibang bansa, as in nag-decide na akong mag-stay sa Hong Kong kasi akala ko mag-aasawa na ako no’n.

“I was 25 then and eventually may nangyari, tapos nanaig yung pangarap. Pero plano ko nang mag-stay, na parang hindi na ako babalik ng Pilipinas kahit kailan,” he said during the virtual media conference of MoreThan Blue, his latest project.

Prior to becoming an actor in the Philippines, Santos was an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) working in Hong Kong.

Santos in 2020 then announced that he is married to his non-showbiz girlfriend, Shyleena Herrera.

When the pandemic hit, industries have collapsed, and the entertainment industry was severely affected.

Due to the impact of Covid-19, Santos and his wife, along with their daughter, said that they are still thinking of migrating to the U.S.

“Nasa ano pa rin s’ya… nasa lineup just in case,” the actor revealed.

According to Santos, because of the ever-changing protocols and guidelines in producing shows and films, paired with the uncertainties of projects pushing through, his family would be his top priority and their daughter’s future.

“Kasi ano ngayon ‘di ba, matumal. Mahirap talaga ngayon. Kumbaga maraming plans of shooting pero walang actually na nangyayari minsan.

“At minsan nauusog dahil sa mga protocols. So worse comes to worst, yeah, may plano. If ever, hindi pa alam kung this year or next, we’ll see,” he explained.

In the meantime, Santos is firm that he will be staying in the Philippines for now.

“Yeah, I’m gonna be here for good muna,” he noted.

Santos top-bills the Filipino adaptation of the Korean movie More Than Blue along with Yassi Pressman. Ariella Arida and Diego Loyzaga join them.

The film will be available for streaming starting November 19 on Vivamax.
