Bea Alonzo to play the lead role in an upcoming Manny Pacquiao-produced film ‘Angel Warrior’
Bea Alonzo will star in a Hollywood war film titled Angel Warrior, wherein Manny Pacquiao will be one of the executive producers along with John Shepherd.
In an article presented by Variety, Alonzo will play the lead in the upcoming Filipino-Hollywood war film by Inspire Studios. It will be produced by Lara Ho, the founder, and CEO of Inspire Studios.
Based on historical facts of World War II, Alonzo will portray the character Tara in the film.
The film’s synopsis features Tara’s near-death experience, which forced her to become an underground fighter for the ‘poorly equipped Filipino and American guerillas’ set on the island of Panay—fighting her way with the resistance against the Japanese occupation during the second world war in the Philippines.
The movie project will be presented at a special event in Los Angeles on October 2 following the celebration of Filipino American History Month—commemorating the rich Filipino culture and the vast history of Filipino migration in the United States.
The upcoming US-Philippines war film filming will begin midway of 2022, and the worldwide release of the movie is expected in the last quarter of that year.
In July 2021, Alonzo inked her contract with GMA Network and became an official Kapuso.
Alonzo is already being introduced to the Kapuso audience and is expected to make her appearances on GMA shows.
Also, Alonzo will start filming the Philippine adaptation of ‘A Moment to Remember’ with Alden Richards in October 2021.
