Arjo Atayde, set to lead ‘The Rebirth of the Cattleya Killer’ based on Aga Muhlach’s 1996 movie
Arjo Atayde is set to lead the Rebirth of the Truth series, based on the 1996 Star Cinema film Sa Aking Mga Kamay, top-billed by Aga Muhlach.
It is a project under ABS-CBN’s International Production and Co-Production division. Dan Villegas will be the director of the upcoming thriller series.
The actor shared the poster of the new series on his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, September 28.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News aired on Tuesday, September 28, the actor said he is thankful and overwhelmed for his new project with ABS-CBN.
“First of all, ABS-CBN never fails to surprise me all the time with all these characters. It’s one hell of a story. It’s one hell of a character, and it’s not normally done here. This is one of the most powerful stories that they’re gonna remake. I am proud to be part of it. Hopefully, the Cattleya Killer could be one if not the possible door to ABS-CBN stepping into the foreign industry,” said Atayde.
Atayde said that he chose to undermine the pressure and assured that he will try his best to give justice for the iconic role.
He shared, “I don’t deal with pressure good. Medyo naii-stressed ako, but instead di ko siya pinapansin. I don’t think of pressure because first of all, no matter what I do, Tito Aga is Tito Aga. He’s done his role, he received awards for this as well. I can’t do what he did, but I can only try my best.”
Atayde is most known for portraying the antagonist Joaquin Tuazon, the son of the rich businessman in the ABS-CBN primetime series, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Francisco “Paco” Alipio in television drama series Hanggang Saan, Elijah “Elai” Sarmiento in The General’s Daughter, and in his leading role as Benjo in the critically-acclaimed web series Bagman, in which he won the Best Actor title at the 2020 Asian Academy Creative Awards.
