10 upcoming GMA Network shows already started their lock-in tapings this last quarter of 2021

As part of their almost 100 shows lineup this 2021, GMA Network has continued to produce shows that would entertain the masses during this pandemic.

Some teleseryes, both for their afternoon and evening lineup, have already started their production and are soon to be released.

Here are the ten upcoming Kapuso programs that started their production this fourth quarter of 2021:

Prima Donnas Book 2.

The top-rater Afternoon Prime show Prima Donnas will be back for a second season after it ended earlier this February.

Due to its season-ending performance, garnering a 14.2% rating on AGB NUTAM TV Rating, a rare score for an afternoon show, GMA Network has decided to do another show season.

With its Book 2, however, some of the show’s original cast will no longer appear in the new season, although its original members still remain, including Wendell Ramos, Katrina Halili, Jillian Ward, Althea Ablan, and Sofia Pablo.

Elijah Alejo, Vince Crisostomo, Wil Ashley, Julius Miguel, Eunice Lagusad, and Chanda Romero will also remain in Book 2.

The show’s director, actress Gina Alajar, confirmed on July 22 that after Nagbabagang Luha, they will start their lock-in taping for Prima Donnas.

“But now, we’re full blast na po. Nagpe-prepare na kami. Mag-start na kami mag-ocular, mag-start na… we have 8-weeks script po, yung gan’yan, tuluy-tuloy na. Then magla-lock in na kami—kung walang pagbabago, by August 16… parang gano’n.”

Aiko Melendez, who will reprise her kontrabida role Kendra Fajardo, teased a dark and sexy look on her Instagram as they already began the show’s lock-in taping.

Nagbabagang Luha, on the other hand, premiered earlier on August 2.

Artikulo 247.

Artikulo 247, which stars Benjamin Alvares, Mark Herras, Rhian Ramos, and Kris Bernal, has started its hotel quarantine in preparation for the lock-in tapings that began late September.

The show is about a woman who was a victim of frustrated homicide. However, her assailant gets aways because of Article 247. As she moves on and tries to forget about the past, she finds herself faced with her attacker again, forcing her to fight for justice and a chance for a new life as her antagonist tries to get away with murder twice.

Little Princess.

The cast of the upcoming afternoon teleserye Little Princess led by Jo Berry, the star of the 2018 series Onanay, have started their script reading and are getting ready to enter into lock-in tapings.

She is joined by Angelika Dela Cruz, Sherilyn Reyes-Tan, Jestoni Alarcon, Jenine Desiderio, Juancho Trivino, and Rodjun Cruz.

The said script reading, which was done via Zoom, began on September 28.

Stories from the Heart Series.

A unique drama mini-series of unusual love stories reflecting how social media affects lovers’ relationships and the people surrounding them, Stories from the Heart continues its production as it was done with its opening salve in the Kelvin Miranda-Beauty Gonzalez led episode Loving Miss Bridgette.

After Loving Miss Bridgette, it will be followed by Never Say Goodbye, which finished its script reading in June. It is a story about the reunion of former lovers–a man in a marriage of convenience and a woman diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Lolong.

The biggest, most ambitious adventure series to date, Lolong, has already started its first cycle of lock-in tapings back in August.

The show, which stars Ruru Madrid, Shaira Diaz, and Arra San Agustin, started taping in its first location in a hacienda resort in Quezon.

However, because of the pandemic and the never-ending changes in the Covid-19 guidelines, the show suspended its production for two weeks, from August 6 until August 20,  because of the threat of the coronavirus Delta variant.

Ruru, Shaira, and Arra is also joined by a star-studded cast in Christopher de Leon, Jean Garcia, Bembol Roco, Malou de Guzman, Rochelle Pangilinan, Ian de Leron, Mikoy Morales, Paul Salas, DJ Durano, Marco Alcaraz, and Maui Taylor.

I Left My Heart in Sorsogon.

The Heart Evangelista-led series began its taping back in July and has already reached the second cycle of its locked-in tapings.

She is joined by Richard Yap and Paolo Contis in this upcoming Telebabad show of GMA Network.

The series cast is still in lock-in taping, with GMA Network yet to announce the end of its second cycle.

The show is about a young woman, played by Heart, a Sorsogon native, who reinvented herself in Manila as a fashion designer and socialite.

Love. Die. Repeat.

The upcoming 10-week mini-series of GMA Network has already begun the first of its lock-in tapings back on September 6.

However, they were forced to postpone its production after actress Jennylyn Mercado’s star was rushed to the hospital due to a “medical condition.”

The taping was supposed to last until October 2 but because of the unforeseen event, its staff and crew are waiting for further announcement from the management when will the show’s production continue.

Xian Lim joins Jennylyn in this mini-series is about a woman who is stuck reliving the day of her boyfriend’s death over and over again.

The World Between Us.

The top-rated series The World Between Us premiered on July 5 but went into a season break in August due to the pandemic.

The break will last for two months, but the good news is that the show’s production has already reached the last cycle of its lock-in tapings.

The series of Alden Richards and Jasmine Curtis-Smith will return on November 15.

Voltes V: Legacy.

The much-awaited live adaptation of the popular animé Voltes V resumed its series of lock-in tapings on September 15 after it was halted because of the pandemic.

The first leg of lock-in taping began in May 2021.

The show includes Miguel Tanfelix, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, Raphael Landicho, and Ysabel Ortega.

Voltes V: Legacy is slated for the first quarter of 2022.

These are the Kapuso shows worth waiting for, and Kapuso viewers should be excited knowing that GMA Network continues to deliver its promise of awesome and quality shows.
