Pen Medina challenges Kiko Rustia to a debate about vaccination
TV personality Kiko Rustia, figured an argument with established actor Pen Medina on Wednesday, September 22, when the latter invited the former to argue with him about the effectiveness and safety of face masks against COVID-19.
Rustia shared on twitter screengrabs showing that Medina commented on his facebook comment regarding vaccine information.
Medina shared non-related links, claiming that face masks do not necessarily help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
So hinanap pala ako ni Pen Medina sa FB. At nag comment sa post ko about Vaccine Information.

Rustia then responded saying that he understood Medina’s stand.
However, he stressed that the actor was not a medical expert to give out “knowledgeable” opinions about masks.
The TV personality even advised Medina to just stick on his platform and leave those who were in favor of vaccines and face masks alone.
Eto lang ang sagot ko.

Despite the difference between their beliefs, Rustia noted that he still respects the actor as one of the best in his craft.
But with Medina’s disfavor on masks, the TV personality will not side with him.
“Uulitin ko lang- si Pen Medina ay isa sa pinaka magaling na artist sa teatro at telebisyon.
“Isa sa mga tinitingala ko sa sining. Pero ang kanyang pinaninindigan tungkol sa COVID-19 at mga bakuna ay isang bagay na di ko susuportahan.
“Mask up. Get vaccinated. Save lives,” wrote Rustia.

Over a year since COVID-19 plagued the whole world, vaccines have been created to combat the coronavirus’s deadly threat.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) attested that face masks were part of reducing the spread of the novel coronavirus. The agency even recommended the use of face masks except when at home since it is found to block up to 80% of the fine respiratory droplets that are emitted from the nose and mouth when breathing or talking, reducing any risk of viral transmissions.
Regarding the vaccines, CDC concluded that they are safe after undergoing various procedures to ensure their safety as well as effectiveness.
Some may argue that COVID-19 vaccines are experimental medicines. However, CDC noted that vaccines such as Sinovac, Pfizer, Moderna, Astrazeneca, and others, went into various clinical trials paired with “extensive testing and monitoring” to prove that “these vaccines are safe and effective.”
By being vaccinated against COVID, it will help those vaccinated individuals “from getting and spreading the virus.”
Although the American institution noted that vaccines do not guarantee complete immunization from the coronavirus itself, it pointed in a study that “full vaccination provides additional protection against reinfection.”
There were also myths and theories regarding COVID-19 vaccines. But again, CDC debunked all of the claims.
Crispin “Pen” Parungao Medina, Sr., better known as Pen Medina, is an award-winning actor who had been in the entertainment industry since 1982. Meanwhile, Kiko Rustia was a former Born to be Wild host.
