Nikko Natividad paints what it’s like if ‘Squid Game’ gets a Philippines version

Through a series of tweets on Friday, September 24, Nikko Natividad drew scenarios on what it’s like to have Squid Game in the Philippines.

He particularly threw shade at the government’s corruption in relation to the popular Netflix series.

Squid Game is a survival drama that tells the story of a group of people who risk their lives in a mysterious survival game with a ₩45.6 billion (US$38.7 million) prize.

Natividad quipped, “Kung sa Pilipinas gagawin ang squid game. Ang daming sasali. Kaso baka hindi makuha nung winner yung pera kasi sigurado ako nanakaw na.”

/In another post, the 28-year-old star once again hinted at the high corruption levels in the country’s government.

“Kala ko sa inuman lang yung skies the limit . PATI PALA SA CORRUPTION,” he said.

“*sky’s pala haha bobo po ako ako na mambash sa sarili ko hahah,” Natividad added.

“Ang dark ng squid game. Kasing dark ng nakawan sa pilipinas,” he remarked.

The series has created a buzz on social media for its compelling and dark story. Many were also convinced that it reflects the modern-day problems in the Philippines—the greed and survival for money.

In a twitter thread, a netizen also shared how the Squid Game would look like when it is played in noontime programs like It’s Showtime, Eat Bulaga, Wowowee, and Everybody, Sing!
