GMA Network challenges viewers’ take on forbidden love story via drama mini-series ‘Stories from the Heart: Loving Miss Bridgette’

GMA Network continues to prove its commitment to providing top-notch and thought-provoking entertainment to its viewers with the first installment from the drama mini-series “Stories from the Heart: Loving Miss Bridgette” premiering this September 13 on GMA Afternoon Prime.

Stories from the Heart is a unique drama mini-series of unusual love stories reflecting how social media affect the relationship of lovers and the people surrounding them.

The drama mini-series begins with ‘Loving Miss Bridgette’ which introduces the much-awaited fresh pairing of fast-rising Kapuso heartthrob Kelvin Miranda as Marcus Villareal, a self-righteous Biology student who is bent on pursuing his counselor; and, in her very first GMA series, character actress and the new Kapuso darling Beauty Gonzalez as Bridgette de Leon, an old-fashioned guidance counselor who is recently annulled and has a chance encounter with her student that will change both of their lives.

Beauty shares her sentiments and experiences taping for her highly-anticipated debut series in the Network, “Feeling ko ang tagal ko nang Kapuso kasi sobrang welcoming at bait nilang lahat sa akin. I feel so privileged that there is a good company that trusts and believes in me like GMA Network, with my capacity as an actress. Nakakaganang ibigay ko lahat ng best ko para sa kanila. I feel so happy about the show, the script is so beautiful kaya excited ako every day to go to work. Our director really helps us. ‘Yung co-actors ko, sobrang babait nilang lahat. Everyone really makes me feel at home and comfortable sa work.”

Kelvin, in turn, expresses his utmost admiration for Beauty and his gratitude to the Network for entrusting him the role, “Sobrang thankful ako na maging leading man niya. Talaga namang dekalibreng aktres si Beauty at kita naman iyon sa iba’t ibang karakter na ginampanan niya. Nakaka-inspire na everyday nakakatrabaho ko siya at panibagong knowledge sa acting ang natutunan ko. Iba’t ibang atake, insights, at perspective ang naririnig ko. Hindi lang kay Beauty, pati na rin sa iba pang cast members and kay Direk Adolf. Sobrang grateful ko na binigyan ako ng chance at opportunity ng Kapuso Network.”

Playing equally important roles in the series are Mr. Lloyd Samartino as Manolo Villareal, Marcus’ laidback father who is really close to his son; and Ms. Bing Loyzaga as Stella Villareal, Marcus’ domineering career-oriented mother and Manolo’s ex-wife who would do anything just to keep her reputation at bay.

Making this series even special is the stellar roster of cast including Polo Ravales as Tristan Enriquez, Bridgette’s narcissistic ex-husband who cheated on her; Adrian Alandy as Luther Tamayo, Bridgette’s co-teacher and suitor who will first learn about her affair with Marcus; Tart Carlos as Elsa Manalo, Bridgette’s supportive confidante who is also a Liberal Arts professor from the same university; Noel Colet as Dr. Solano, head of the guidance and counseling department; Nikki Co as Waxee Galang, Marcus’ cheerful best friend; Pamela Prinster as Abby Mendoza, Marcus’ cunning ex-girlfriend who goes to great lengths just to get back with him; Shanicka Arganda as Nina Torrente, Abby’s friend and classmate who appears to be her minion.

The story opens with Bridgette (Beauty), a recently annulled guidance counselor who goes on vacation to embrace her new reality as a single woman after being cheated on by her ex-husband Tristan (Polo). While on vacation, she meets Marcus (Kelvin), a pre-med student who’s raging in youthful energy and arrogance. One thing leads to another and the two had a one-night stand.

Thinking that it was all just that, Bridgette ditches Marcus on their supposed date as she goes back to her reality only to find out that he is a student in her school. As Bridgette and Marcus proceed with their undeniable connection, things will not come easy as complications will start to arise.

Can their love withstand the demeaning remarks of those who deem their relationship unacceptable? Or will they soon realize that the permanent damages caused by their love are enough to put a stop to everything?

Loving Miss Bridgette is under the supervision of the GMA Entertainment Group headed by SVP for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, FVP for Drama Redgie A. Magno, SAVP for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, Senior Program Manager Anthony R. Pastorpide, and Executive Producer James Ryan Manabat.

The series is a product of the visionary minds of GMA’s award-winning and highly talented creative team – Creative Director Aloy Adlawan; Creative Head and Consultant Des Garbes-Severino; Head Writer Ken de Leon; Assistant Head Writer Kenneth Angelo Enriquez; Writers Christine Novicio and Dang Sulit Marino; and Brainstormer Louize Al-Shehri.
