Gerald Anderson says no to becoming a Sperm Donor in real life

On September 1, Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson admitted that he couldn’t be a sperm donor in real life during the media conference for the Init Sa Magdamag’s finale.

Anderson admitted that in contrast to his character Tupe, he finds it difficult to become a sperm donor.

“Siguro isa sa mga hindi ko pinaka malilimutan parang kasing mahirap din siyang gawin sa buhay, ‘yung maging sperm donor ako sa ex ko kasi ni-request ng asawa niya. Parang hirap din ako sa eksena na iyan. Although nag-work siya, kasi sa totoong buhay talagang malaking conflict ‘yan. 

“Parang bakit ako sa lahat ng tao. Tsaka parang ‘yung as a man, as a person ang hirap gawin ‘yun.”

Anderson is currently in a relationship with actress Julia Barretto. They recently revealed their relationship status after months of speculations from the media.

He clarified that it will still depend on the person’s situation but explicitly said he prefers to father his biological child.

“It depends kung ano ‘yung sitwasyon ng nanghihingi ng tulong. Pero syempre hindi ‘yung unang anak ko, gusto ko sa taong mahal ko. Gusto ko makasama ‘yung bata at akin ‘yung bata.”

He then listed the other scenes he thought were difficult to film during the production of the teleserye, noting the challenges the cast and crew faced.

“‘Yung mga eksena namin ni Yam sa falls, mahirap din ‘yun kasi napakalamig ng tubig, tapos pilot week pa namin. 

“Sa totoo lang mahirap din ‘yung sitwasyon namin sa taping dahil sa pandemic. Parang everyday challenging talaga.”

As for the teleserye, Init Sa Magdamag is nearing its finale, which airs on September 10.
